The selection process for the World Cup team will be as follows:
The Open Selection Committee has been viewing players throughout 2010. up to 8 Men and 8 Ladies will be selected for the long list, which will be announced at at close of play of the UKPA Inter-Regional Championships (in the event of cancellation, it will be announced after the National Championships).
These up to 16 players will attend training sessions during the winter after which 5 Men and 5 Ladies will be selected for the World Cup Team. The 3 Men and 3 Ladies that do not make the Team will be regarded as non-playing reserves and will not be expected to attend training unless they so wish, they also have to provide one horse each.
These 10 players will then be expected to attend training sessions during the off-season.
The final 4 Men and 4 Ladies will be announced prior to the World Cup and will be expected to provide at least 2 horses each for the World Cup. The 5th Lady and 5th Man will be named as 1st reserves. These 2 players will be expected to be involved in team training and to provide 2 horses for the World Cup.
If you need any more details on the selection process, please get in touch with myself or Paul Rowden, Chair of Selectors.
