The 2010 UKPA National Championships on the 27-29th August 2010 will be held at Rugby Polo Club, Rugby.
This is a new venue for the UKPA and we look forward to holding a fun, professional and safe tournament.
What is the Nationals all about?
Every year all clubs across the UK come together at the National Championship Tournament (usually towards the end of the season) to compete to win in their chosen divisions.
Divisions range from A grade (highest grade) to E Grade, also with Juniors and Primary Juniors.
Divisions are handicap related, and the team (6 players) handicap total will determine which division they will play.
Players are bound to play in the club they are registered with the UKPA.
Format of the Tournament
Nationals is a 3 day tournament starting with a parade of all horses and players Friday morning, playing all day Friday and Saturday with the finals on Sunday, finished with a party on Sunday Evening, as the bank holiday Monday usually follows, so players can make their way home on Monday.
The parties have also incorporated fund raising opportunities, in 2008 at Liscombe Park grounds the Open Squad took part in a slave auction and raised over £6000 for the air ambulence!
Other events at the Nationals parties include 'Man of the Year Awards' events like this bring the players together at the end of an exhilirating tournament, reminding us that polocrosse is all about fun!
