UKPA Central Stick Stockpile

Equipment has in the past been a stumbling block to introducing newcomers to the sport so now the UKPA has, thanks to the help of Bennett Polocrosse Equipment, a central polocrosse equipment store. Bennet Polocrosse equipment very kindly gave us a very generous deal on the purchase of some new equipment and this store of sticks and balls is available for UKPA members to borrow in order to carry out coaching. The idea is that this equipment store will be used by people when they are coaching beginners to the sport, perhaps at riding clubs, riding schools or pony clubs.

Regional equipment

There are already some sticks and balls within the regions so if you do have any equipment requirements then it worthwhile contacting the regional reps first because these will probably be closer to you! You can either contact your regional representatives or your regional SD representative.

No luck within the Region?

If you have equipment needs that can't be fulfilled within the region then the UKPA has a stock of stick and balls which can be borrowed by contacting John Whitehead at sportsdevelopment@ukpolocrosse.co.uk or Iain Heaton, on
ceo@ukpolocrosse.co.uk
or by calling him on 07799 360439

There is a hire charge and deposit placed upon this equipment in order that the UKPA can cover some of the cost of purchasing it and and moving it around the country.

The starting cost for hiring equipment is a base price of...

  • £5 with an additional 50p for each stick and each ball borrowed, so if you borrowed 12 sticks and 6 balls you would be charged the base price of £5, £6 for the sticks and £3 for the balls so a total of £14. This is not a great deal when you think you will be coaching 12 people who should all be paying you at least £5 for their lesson and you should consider passing on the cost of equipment hire to your students.

The deposit for equipment is always £10, this will be returned when the equipment is returned, providing it is all there and in good condition.

Please remember when you have the equipment in your possession that you are responsible for it and so if an item of equipment is lost then you will be charged for it.

If you have any queries, then please contact John Whitehead at sportsdevelopment@ukpolocrosse.co.uk or Iain Heaton at ceo@ukpolocrosse.co.uk
