If you are interested in polocrosse then you are probably best off by first of all looking to see if there is a UKPA club or a riding school close to you that already offers it, as it is a team sport. However, if there isn't then don't despair. The UKPA is here to help you!
For a start, even if there is not a club or riding school near you it is quite likely that there are players near you. Quite a few players live a long way from their clubs and so the club map (click here to see it) does not really reflect the distribution of polocrosse players in the UK!
Secondly, though polocrosse is team sport most of the actual training and practising can be done by yourself and then you can just travel to play actual matches. The training and the skills are very useful for improving the schooling of your horse and the balance and ability of the rider so they have a purpose even if you aren't playing full tournaments.
So if there is no club or riding school near you or you get no joy there then the best way to get involved in polocrosse is to contact us directly and we can point you in the right direction! If you think that maybe some of your friends would be interested in playing it with you then maybe as a group you could take it up, have a look at our group of riders page to get more information on how we can help you.
If you have any questions or would like more information please don't hesitate to contact the UKPA sport development officer, Iain Heaton on sportsdevelopment@ukpolocrosse.co.uk or call him on 07799 360439. He will do all he can to help you start playing polocrosse.
